We all have them — a winter crush or crushes. Mine happen to be on fashion, jewelry, art and the eclectic mixture of creativity. The creations that I am currently crushing on might look very different in style but the designers’ and artist (respectively) all share a core commonality… authenticity and an organic sense of meaning. I have watched all the artists develop and grow into the strong brand they are becoming. On a personal note, the artists featured here all exhibit a sense of social responsibility and humanitarian characteristics that is both brave and incorporated into their work.
Ursula Guderian Jewelry, is the woman behind UAG Designs. UAG is a gorgeous collection of exotic and mystical jewelry and for Guderian, art has always been a healing entity for her that she channels into her work. Ursula interprets ancient and other worldly influences and images into unique and elegant contemporary creations. Her intention is to provide a piece of art to wear and to view that represents an extension of one’s self. I could not agree more.
Looking at her jewelry makes you feel there is a story behind each piece. Guderian creates fired hand hammered brass, bronze and copper sculptural focal pieces and incorporate ancient antiquities with organic elements. Guderian elaborated, “I Utilize Ancient History to captivate an aura of Mysticism and my Art is designed to touch all with a captivating mysticism and ensue a sense of timelessness.”
Cafe De La Hue
Donnie Frazier is the creator of the Cafe De La Hue bow ties. Stylish and smart (like Frazier himself), these bow ties make the perfect style statement. As a woman who is attracted to mens fashion, Frazier’s bow ties make for the ideal accessory without going overboard. Frazier is a talented stylist, designer and activist who has a strong drive with an incredible outlook on life.
When I asked Donnie how he views his line, (which also carries ponchos and pouches), he said, “I love the fact that Cafe De La Hue is so personal to me. Hue is my middle name, which I have grown to love and brand myself off of. Through inspiration gathered from food and various items found in cafes and in coffee shops, I am able to create some of my most favorite things: bow ties, pouches, and ponchos. The whole entire brand started as a fundraiser for AIDS Walk Los Angeles to help raise awareness on HIV and prevention. It has grown to be an even more philanthropic brand supporting other organizations such as the Movember Men’s Health Foundation with an emphasis on mental health. As Cafe De La Hue grows and expands, I hope to stay true to my love for textures, earth tones, and timeless pieces. Anyone can wear Cafe De La Hue with pride. It is a brand of empowerment, self-awareness, and class.”
Without a doubt, his brand is here to stay and I already envision his bow ties at spring weddings. Check Donnie out on Instagram too @donniehue
Nicole Ellsworth Art
I have been in love with this artist for awhile now. I do not how else to say it except that Nicole Ellsworth Art is exquisite and Ellsworth is extremely talented and multifaceted. Her art literally takes me to another place. I discovered Nicole on Instagram and could not stop looking. She is a passionate illustrator, graphic designer and collage artist who offers a range of art and design services for both commercial and entrepreneurial projects. She welcomes a creative challenge and will not disappoint. Nicole examines the needs of her clients, does aesthetic research and works to provide design that most empowers their vision. Nicole has a lovely sensitivity that she channels in the best way – her work.
Nicole grew up with art and fell in love with drawing and telling stories at a young age. She elaborated, “My artwork is often inspired by a love of nature, texture and color.” Ellsworth enjoys observing her surroundings and then creating her own interpretation of it. She is a lover of vintage textiles and mixing bold and soft colors. Her greatest goal as an artist? To create a sense of gentleness and pee within her characters.
Authentic, delicate and artistic is how I would describe Molly Zimmerman’s gorgeous jewelry collection, MMDruck – the collection was founded by Molly Zimmerman and is a true artisan line of handcrafted jewelry completely designed and crafted in Los Angeles, California. The collection consists of all sterling silver and I love how she layers her pieces perfectly. MMDruck consists of rings, earrings and necklaces. Finding inspiration in modernist architecture and sculpture, Scandinavian design and 1980s American sportswear, MMDruck jewelry is subtly striking, effortless and sharp. I genuinely adore Zimmerman’s pieces and love watching the debut of each piece.
I wish everyone a peaceful and stylish holiday season filled with love, accessories and art. These artists represent that we can always create, design and bring creativity and change to the world. Always Stay Inspired!
