While the September Issue of venerable fashion magazines ushered in Fall 2016 via velvet dresses, bomber jackets, and pinstripe suits, the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards (“VMAs”) exhibited that many celebrities possessed a certitude of endless summer.
Musicians, artists, and influencers dominated the red carpet with sheer, mesh and cut-out ensembles that exuded Tom Ford sexiness with Vegas pomp.

Undisputedly, Kim Kardashian-West was the best-dressed attendee at the VMAs. Kim trounced her competition with a taut, sheer black dress with a V-neck that coquettishly hinted of divestment. Britney Spears returned to the award show in a black cocktail dress with asymmetrical cut-outs and a high front slit.
While her contemporaries chose overt sexuality, Beyonce displayed haute couture in a gorgeous, pastel gown with an embellished, feathery bodice that tapered to a sheer sheath.

Newcomer artist Halsey Adhered to the translucent trend by sporting a high-neck translucent jumpsuit by Yousef Al-Jasmi; while actress Hailee Steinfeld illuminated in a vibrant Balmain mini-dress.

The 2016 VMAs was a dynamic celebration of youth culture, colored with illustrious performances and definitive fashion moments. Although the award show is in its third decade, it shows no signs of alleviating its iconic status in pop culture.
