Carrie Bradshaw’s Top 5 Looks From Sunny, with Love

Carrie Bradshaw is easily one of the biggest fashion icons of our time. She navigated us through love, life and most importantly our closets. Her unique style and fun spirit is what inspired me to recreate her top looks – in my opinion – from a millennial standpoint. Flip through the looks with me to see if I hit the nail on the Jimmy Choo.

When Carrie Met Paris

Paris is the city of lights and Carrie does black and white – times two. Her play on stripes in this look takes your eyes every which way, but in the true Carrie fashion, it all makes sense. Crazy enough, I had a striped crop with ‘Paris’ on the chest which I threw over a black and white midi dress. I paired with a cute glittered platform to add some fun to the look. After all, what would Carrie do?

The Nighty Comes Out to Play

Bradshaw was always known for bringing clothes meant for the dark to light. In this case, she paired this lingerie inspired dress with a fun floral coat. I recreated the look by paring a lace trimmed dress with a playfully pink trench coat and a black strappy heel to add a little sex appeal. Sweet, meets sassy, meets sexy. The three proverbial S’s of Sex and the City if you ask me.

Beer with My Manolo’s Please

Carrie isn’t Carrie if she doesn’t take a normally shabby look and make it all her own. Even when relaxing and drinking a brewsky, she channels Flash Dance by wearing and oversized sweater and cropped black pant. Not to be too relaxed, she slipped on a pair of bright fire engine red Manolo’s to let you know that she can drink beer with the guys and snag yours at the same time. I made this look my own by pairing a cropped sweater with oversized arms and black leggings featuring a side fringe. I kept the red-orange shoe from the original look to keep the spice of the look.

Black, white and Read All Over.

Who knew a casual store run could look so good? Even running for a few groceries is a reason to dress for Ms. Bradshaw. I put a spin on the look by making it all black with a porkpie hat, which are more in style than the newspaper boy at the moment. Throw on a cream mule and the groceries will practically buy themselves.

Ms. Bradshaw To You

THE Carrie Bradshaw look that defined the character and a style that is undeniably her – sweet meets street. The tulle skirt and tank were made famous in the SITC intro and still never let’s us down. You can’t mess up a good thing, so I kept this look as similar to the original as I could. Thank you Carrie for the inspiration!
