Simplicio Michael Luis Asis Herrera also known as “M” was born in Manila. M the Movement is an expression of “harmony despite difference.” This is inspired by his culturally diverse upbringing. Through the platform of fashion M aspires to unite individuals and portray his philosophy of “fabric of thought.”
He began the study of Design and Merchandising at FIDM. His career began shortly after at the age of 19. M’s career has allowed him to travel the world, helping him to better understand and bridge the gaps between different cultures. In 2002 he relocated to Germany working as a Creative Director managing 10 designers. He is most well known for designing a joint collection of PUMA-BMW for Ralf and Michael Schumacher who competed in Formula One Races.
M the Movement began in 2005 featuring a luxury designer streetwear line. The line features apparel made from eco friendly fabrics. M the Movement is is one of the hottest west coast eco-friendly streatwear brands. His clients include the likes of Britney Spears, Jill Scott, Far East Movement, Kid Rock, LMFAO, and The Black Eyed Peas. He has been featured in a multitude of press including “ Best Fashion Trims- 2008” and “How to run a fashion company- 2008.”
