She’s collaborated with MAC, launched a number of fragrances and set up her own beauty agency. Now, Rihanna is working on her own makeup line that will debut in the fall of 2017.
The cosmetics range will be labeled Fenty Beauty, the same name as her apparel collaboration with Puma titled Fenty x Puma. The sneakers Riri designed in the collection, called Creepers, won the coveted Shoe of the Year award at the 30th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards.
According to Belfast Telegraph, Rihanna is the first woman to achieve the title. It goes on to say that whatever designs Riri is creating in the fashion world, she’s doing it right. The Creepers are sold out in most stores, but this month, three new velvet editions will be coming out. Lifestyle Magazine mentioned that the new additions will come in burgundy, gray and black. So if you want a pair of the popular sneakers, be sure to hit the stores early. Given the hype surrounding the products tied to her name, it’s not surprising to see that the pop icon’s future line of cosmetics is highly anticipated. The artist is thrilled to work on the products as well, stating in an interview with Refinery29 that there are tons of different kinds of makeup that she wants to create.
Riri exclaimed:
“Lashes that could just put themselves on…lipstick that doesn’t move, but doesn’t dry your lips out, that you don’t need a liner for. I mean, it sounds so unreal.”
But aside from items still being conceptualized, there’s already a confirmed piece set to be the first product released under Fenty Beauty.
The Malay Mail specified that a lipstick with holographic color will be Riri’s first Fenty Beauty item. The bronze gloss topped with pink shimmer lip blend was showcased by models at Paris Fashion Week which featured the Spring / Summer 2017 Fenty x Puma Collection. Furthermore, RiRi has made a deal with the Paris-based luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, which also holds other big names in the fashion world such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs Beauty. With a giant in the industry backing her up, RiRi will surely be able to turn her dream cosmetic creations into reality.

In an interview with The Scene, RiRi’s makeup artist Mylah Morales mentions tips and recommends products to achieve glowing skin like the pop star. A more timely ‘holiday look’ was also sampled by Riri when she went to attend the awards night to receive the aforementioned recognition for her Creepers footwear.
Essence described her makeup as ‘iridescent’ with metallic but subtle hues for the artist’s eye shadow. All these considerations will be taken into account for developing Fenty Beauty products.
