Recognizing your own creativity is just as inspiring as someone else realizing that there is great potential. Daye Jack, 20-year-old music artist from Atlanta, knows what it feels like to accomplish a goal by any means necessary. Born in Nigeria and moving to Atlanta before transitioning to college life in New York City, Daye Jack is very accustomed to change, which is why it wasn’t too difficult for him when he decided to let go completely of his studies as a computer science major at New York University to shift his focus toward developing his music career. When listening to his music, one word comes to mind: powerful. The fire and passion behind his work is evident and he continues to act as a role model for youth who may be toying with the idea of following their respective dream, but may be hesitant because of the risk. His talent has resulted in his music being discovered by pop maestro, Max Martin, who later signed Daye to his MXM publishing imprint. Daye Jack is now signed to Warner Bros. Records and has been advancing in his career ever since. For example, Daye has vocals on Arians Grande’s “Sometimes”, collaborated with Tori Kelli on “Expensive”, and worked with Killer Mike for “Hands Up”. Days will surely work with many more artists in the future.

Daye now resides in Los Angeles, where he is able to be exposed to a tremendous number of opportunities and connections regarding his career in music. One major aspect that draws producers and fellow artists toward him is the way in which he makes himself stand out in the industry through his dress and his sound. His fashion sense gives off a sort of 90s House Party vibe, which is not commonly seen amongst artists of such a young age. His vintage-like sense of style reflects within his music. For instance, he is known for sporting vintage windbreakers and surf company-shirts, both of which connect back to the title of his most recent EP, Surf The Web. The EP was released mid October and can be viewed on main music – streaming sites such as Spotify and SoundCloud. Daye’s main purpose with Surf The Web is to explore what it means to grow up in both the music industry as well as in the “Age of the Internet”. It’s a work that all youth are able to relate to in one way or another; it sends a message and keeps Daye’s listeners wanting more form him. The EP was produced by several influential figures within the music industry such as Mike Elizondo, Klas Ahlund and Stefan Graslund. These three producers have worked with artists like 50 Cent, Eminem, Katy Perry and Madonna.
