In case you are not familiar with Alfredo Villalba, it is a fashion house based in Madrid, Spain carried out by Alfredo’s son and fashion designer, Diego Villalba. Diego follows a rigorous process when designing Couture garments under Atelier Villalba. First, Diego will have a personal interview by appointment with the buyer to define the style of the final product. Second, the fabrics are chosen from weavers in Switzerland, Italy, and France. Third, Diego begins pattern making, construction, and then the sewing of the final product. Fourth, Diego uses the “Moulage Technique” where he drapes the delicate fabric upon the mannequin directly. Lastly, the final details are added like rhinestones (metallic or Swarovski crystals) and each are sewn one by one by hand.
Villalba’s ready-to-wear Fall and Winter 2016/17 collection takes a modernist turn. The looks feature monochromatic colored dresses, jumpsuits, bodysuits with cut-outs and mesh details.
