ISSEY MIYAKE AUTUMN WINTER 2015 – “Colorscope” Collection
ISSEY MIYAKE released our first ever international campaign video for Fall 2015, shot by renowned director and photographer Jacob Sutton that coincides with the relaunch of ISSEY MIYAKE’s international advertising campaign.
ISSEY MIYAKE has released a campaign video for the AUTUMN WINTER 2015 collection to herald the arrival of the new season.
The “Colorscope” collection, inspired by designs created by nature, uses motifs that include snow crystals and swirling seashells. Using the 3D Steam Stretch technique, further developed since last season, the collection expresses a myriad of color variations, using only the three primary colors: cyan, magenta, and yellow. Unlike still photographs, the concept video captures the endlessly colorful kaleidoscope effect created as the model turns in the spiral skirt, as they debuted in the runway show’s finale.
Cutting-edge, London-based photographer Jacob Sutton helmed the project from its conception up to its shooting and editing stages. Sutton says he wanted to highlight the collection’s beautiful textiles and silhouettes by using the reflective power of mirrors, and developed the final effect by creating an elegant and dynamic scene in which the innovative pre-folded folded skirt spirals outward, as if it were blooming, as the model twirls.
The video coincides with the relaunch of ISSEY MIYAKE’s international advertising campaign, also photographed by Jacob Sutton. The campaign will launch in the US in September 2015 issues.
