Stella Jean’s Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection
It may be summer, but designers like Stella Jean are launching their Autumn/Winter 2015 Collections. Bold Looks are taking over next season.
Half-Italian, half-Haitian designer Stella Jean presented her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection in Milan a few months back. The collection which is rich in colours, prints, textures was inspired in the Indian Himalayas in a gentleman’s barbershop. Stella Jean who works closely with the Ethical Fashion Initiative featured the multiple skills of Haitian artisans as well as showcased a few pieces of fabric as seen on the belts and bags from Burkina Faso. This specific collection connects India, England, Italy, Haiti and Burkina Faso through the rich textures and colors.
Stella Jean’s style is pure métissage, which echoes and evokes her personal story. The refined and precious mood of Stella Jean designs is incessantly inspired by her multiculturalism, which she translates into her very own, unmistakable style: the “Wax & Stripes Philosophy.” Her distinctive style is not only the union between waxed textiles, Fifties chic, men’s shirt fabric and an impeccable European cut: the designer always looks to the future and to the possible historical and cultural combinations, for a transversal and groundbreaking creativity which poses no limits to cultural, social and fabric mixes. All this is being supported by the necessity to project a new idea of multiculturalism, of which Stella is a real-life example.
Sold globally in the most important fashion stores all over the world and worn by the most elegant women in the world, her clothes are a very personal interpretation of timeless style. We are truly fascinated with Stella Jean’s Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection. The combination of textures and prints in this collection is simply breathtaking. Not to mention the styling ability of this collection can be endlessly unique and abundant.
Stella Jean was one winners of the prestigious Who Is On Next contest, sponsored by Vogue Italia and Altaroma back in 2011. After wards her collections keep being cherished by the international press and the buyer world. Things looked up fast for Stella Jean and she went on to a fast rise – In September 2012 she debuted during Milan Fashion Week, in June 2013 she presented her first collection for men with a show in Florence, and by September 2013 Stella Jean was chosen by Giorgio Armani to show her collection in the spaces of the Armani Theater during Milan Fashion Week. Achieving the appreciation of both national and international press and critics, and reinforcing her role as representative of the Italian creativity’s new wave.
