My Front Row Diary: Second day at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin
A/W 2015 Anja Gockel, Lena Hoschek, Dimitri

by Louann “Emmalynn” von Brochwitz

Ahhh, the second day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin started quite early for someone plagued by jet-lag. Without further ado I decided to sport my black Tom Ford sunglasses to hide my dark circles. The streets around the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin tent were clogged with stylish women in flashy dresses and a crowd of unfashionable dressed photographers asking them to stop and pose for a picture. Of course, the swarms of paparazzi also caught me in front of the entrance and started snapping pictures while I tried not to look fatigue.

Bravo to Anja Gockel for adhering to her creed of creating feminine yet fashionable designs for the modern woman – career and family.  Her passion for creating wearable, high fashion pieces is complimented by her dedication to helping women create equality in their world through her involvement in IWF Germany.

Lena Hoschek

I love Lena Hoschek for always creating edgy designs that bring one back to the era where everything was possible.  Her romantically traditional designs coupled with luxurious fabrics and beautiful details have the ability to transform even the most modern woman into a daring dame of yesteryear. Even the swag bag was filled with niceties meant to support the femme fatale in all of us!

Dimitri
Tent at Brandenburg Gate

The Dimitri runway show was a very powerful ending of the day: From goddess silhouettes to modern shapes, Dimitri makes use of sumptuous, flowing fabrics and leather, complimented by brightly colored tasseled accents in this beautifully feminine collection. The tassel details were for sure my favorite! Photos don’t do this collection justice, I totally love it and would love to include it in one of my next editorials!

Despite my rocky start into the day, I left this the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent feeling inspired and decided with my team to conclude my day with the Holy Ghost After-Show Party.

Louann [Emmalynn] von Brochwitz

Louann von Brochwitz [also known as Emmalynn] is the enfant terrible in the fashion industry: She is a self-proclaimed Dadaist (I am ugliness in beauty and I am nonsense in sense) and the only High Fashion Contortion Model. As her talent for creating iconic imagery grew, Louann’s passion for mathematics became an academic achievement few can equal: She is currently working on her Ph.D. in mathematics in California and above all she is also creative directing vanguard fashion editorials… Sit front row at Fashion Week with her by following her Front Row Diary on The LA Fashion Magazine. Louann brings you all the latest news from the runway and captivating moments from the strange, but marvelous world of fashion. In addition, she lets you peek behind the scenes at her conceptual fashion editorial shoots.
